Asthama is an incurable disease which is associated with the lungs. The symptom of asthama is breathlessness. The native is not able to breathe in a normal manner. Breathing is an involuntary function that is controlled by the respiratory organs. The organs include the diaphragm, the muscles between the ribs, the muscles in the neck, the abdominal muscles and the lungs. The diaphragm, a dome shaped sheet of muscle that seperates the chest cavity from the abdomen controls the function of breathing.

Due to the accumulation of cough inside the tubes the diameter of the breathing tubes are narrowed, especially the smaller ones deep in the lungs, wheezing a high pitched whistling sound is produced during breathing. The various reasons associated with these narrowing of breathing tubes are bronchiolitis in children, toxic inhalation, foreign body aspiration or vocal cord dysfunction.

Mercury rules the vocal cords and the respiratory system. All the diseases associated with the vocal cords, breathing, pulmonary system, etc are ruled by Mercury. Saturn is contracting in nature. If Saturn is associated with Mercury then the native gets trouble in breathing because of contracted breathing tubes. Jupiter rules the lungs, cough. It is phlegmatic in nature. If Jupiter is associated with Mercury then there is excess cough in the lungs and this result in blockage of the tubes.  The signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius control the respiratory system. 

                                                                                                                       

Various combinations of planets can cause respiratory disease.

Moon occupying the 6^th house and is conjunct with Rahu having malefic aspect by Sun or Saturn can cause respiratory problems.

If lord of the Ascendant is placed in Rahu’s Star and Rahu occupies the 6^th house then the native is prone to respiratory problem, wheezing etc.

If the Ascendant is in an Airy sign (Gemini, Libra or Aquarius) and it is aspected by Saturn or Rahu then the native is likely to have respiratory diseases.

Mercury is conjoined or aspected by Saturn, Jupiter gives respiratory diseases

If Ascendant is Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, Mercury is in Rahu’s star and Rahu is in Gemini, Libra or Aquarius gives respiratory diseases.

Mercury is afflicted by malefic planet gives breathing problems, problems related to vocal cords.

The sub division Mercury- Moon- Mars in Virgo in KP Astrology, denotes diaphragm, the inspirational tissues assisting breathing and a disorder to this can cause the problem.

In Navamsa [D9] Moon is hemmed in between powerful Mars and Saturn and aspected by Jupiter and Mercury gives respiratory problems.

In Shashtamsa [D6] Moon is afflicted by Saturn and Mercury gives breathing problems.

Jupiter is with Mercury and is placed in Cancer, Leo and severely afflicted here by the placement of Rahu, Ketu gives breathing problems.

Moon, Saturn and Mercury in Gemini gives breathing problems.

Jupiter, Mercury and Rahu in Gemini gives breathing problems.

Jupiter, Mercury, Moon, Saturn in Gemini, Libra, Aquarius or 6th house gives this disease.

Saturn, Moon in the 6^th house in Gemini, Cancer makes the lungs weak.

Remedies

Performing pranayama may relieve wheezing by improving breathing control and reducing stress.

Wearing a Four Mukhi Rudraksha will help to control the diseases like wheezing and respiratory problem.

Intake of ayurvedic medicines will give strong immunity within the body to control this disease.

Intake of Thulasi, honey, ginger will expel the excess cough generated in the body.
